With all the ways Cyberpunk 2077 has changed, it kinda feels like the game was first released ages ago. You feel how little time has truly passed when you pop open the Nexus for Cyberpunk mods. Relative to games like Skyrim, the modding community is still in its infancy, and CDPR hasn’t gone out their way to be modder-friendly.
Nevertheless, CP2077 mod creators have worked tirelessly to manifest its pre-release promises. In no other category is that effort more apparent than in cosmetic mods for V. It seems wrong that V isn’t as flashy as Night City; why should other NPC’s get cool sci-fi designs and not us? These mods go the extra mile in helping you create the new-age net jockey of your dreams.
10 4K Complexions for Male/Female V
With one of the biggest budgets in gaming history, you’d think CDPR’d put their money where their mouth is in delivering on V’s appearance. Almico’s 4K Complexions for Male V replicates the Male V we only got to see in trailers astoundingly well, and provides a few faces that are compatible with all skin colors.
Avallonkao’s 4K Complexion and Body for Female V serves the same purpose, while also including a detailed body mesh. Plenty of great complexion mods and facial presets have come out since, which puts this mod in last. Nevertheless, it’s pretty easy to install and use, and is a quick way to immediately improve V’s appearance in-game.
AnruiMurasaki understands that a good V build means customization down to the smallest detail. Teeth and Metal Toofs is an overlay that requires more slots for head meshes – lucky for us, NimRain’s mod More Head Meshes does the job. Give V sharper teeth in chrome, gold, and pink.
Beware, this mod is low rank mostly because the effort to actually attain your colorful toofs may not be worth it for some. As with any cosmetic mod that relies on downloading for specific mesh slots, some trial, error, and a lot of instruction reading is required. But what’s great is that, once the files are in game, the mod works without glitches and looks awesome with facial cyberware.
8 Stockings Fishnets And Body Cyberware Collection
Though CP2077 isn’t technically a multiplayer game, you can’t help but want to show off your style. Pulling up to any of the best bars in Night City, you’d be turning heads with this mod. DaSolid’s Stockings, Fishnets, and Body Cyberware Collection works with NimRain’s More Body Meshes for better looking clothing and cyberware that fit V’s body without clipping.
Equipable skin-tight items often float awkwardly or clip. By using preset body meshes in the character creator, these items become a part of V’s body. While this mod works for female V specifically, NimRain’s Body Meshes are available for males as well. The downside is that it can be glitchy; you have to carefully choose which items to download since there’s only so many body mesh slots.
Sure, you might feel like Hackerman with the Netwatch Netdriver Mk. 5 – one of the best pieces of cyberware in the game – but people wouldn’t know it just by looking at your character. That’s where AnruiMurasaki’s mod Extra Cyberware comes in; it uses NimRain’s Body Mesh mod to mix, match, and layer more cyberware onto your face. AnruiMurasaki has a number of cyberware mods that take from the custom ware seen on various NPC’s and makes them available to you.
As always, being aware of which slot they go in is extremely important; the challenge of making sure files don’t overwrite each other does dock a few points. But the ability to customize multiple pieces of cyberware – some of which come in different colors – is the first step in building a V that’s truly unique.
6 Nola Dreamer Virtual Boutique
NolaDreamer’s Virtual Boutique mod is the place where you can buy NolaDreamer’s clothes for male and female V that are listed in this mod’s description. It’s powered by Jesusrofls’ Virtual Atelier, which enables you to buy cosmetic mod content through V’s personal computer. It not only allows easy access to equipable items, it lets you equip those previously trapped in the character creator.
Making tattoos and cyberware equippable comes with issues, such as clipping and floating. But where the Atelier shines is with mods like the Virtual Boutique that makes it easy to access modded clothing. Show off your V’s body tats and cyberwear with fishnets and swimsuits, or give Male V a nice pair of skinny jeans that aren’t Johnny’s.
5 Kala’s Edited Face Tattoos
If you’ve been roaming the Nexus for a while, you’ve probably come across a screenshot that made you think, “Wow, V’s tattoos look so cool in this”. Well, that’s thanks in no small part to Kala’s Edited Face Tattoos. To improve customization for vanilla tattoos, modder guidethisonekalaheria has segmented certain body tattoos.
They’ve also simplified facial tattoos and upped their colors and resolution. Now you can choose from an array of face, neck, and body tats without the bits you dislike. Kala’s mod ranks fifth for being the most in-depth edit of vanilla tats, as well as being fairly simple to use, though the overall effect on V’s appearance is pretty minor.
4 Wingdeer Hair Collection
Are you sick of V’s grotesque hairline for every pulled-back hairstyle? Do you wish your V could have genuinely long Instagram influencer hair? Well, peachydeer5 has the mod for you. The Wingdeer Hair Collection features 168 hairs to choose from, many with physics enabled, even the updos with long bangs!
The greatest issue is going to be overwritten files, so despite the ample catalog of hairdos to choose from, it’s safer to pick and choose the style you’re after. If you’re bummed that this mod only serves female V, Vessnelle’s Hair Collection fills that void with some pretty nice cuts for Male V. Neither mod addresses the lack of styles and lengths for Male V, which does keep this mod in fourth.
3 Advanced V Customization
Mod creator almico dropped this blessing on the Cyberpunk modding community when it was still in its infancy, providing somewhat of a sampler of custom content now available for V. From Evelyn’s gold ring gloves to Ozob’s grenade nose, you can pick and choose from a variety of NPC augmentations previously inaccessible.
The mod also includes a body mesh for female V, and a couple body and face meshes for Male V. As always, the fact that all of these new customizables are only available in the character creator means you have to pay attention to what slots are available and which are full. Advanced V Customization did numbers for Male V customization, and remains a resource for Male V meshes, which puts it in third.
2 Unique Eyes
Halvkyrie’s Unique Eyes makes it easier for modders to create custom eyes of their own. These range from hyper-realistic eyes to more stylized, as is pictured above, in a pair that closely resemble Rebecca’s from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Yorugh’s Eye Collection is one such mod made possible by Unique Eyes, with an array of both realistic and fantasy colors, eye dilations, and even cat eye options.
Unique Eyes ranks high for being as essential as a mod can be, reworking everything from eye gradients to textures for maximum customization. It sits in second for doing very little on its own, and it can be confusing to keep track of which textures overwrite which in character customization.
1 Erebus Arms – Corpo Gorilla Arms
ErebusEquity’s commitment to lore-friendly presentation and ease of use are the highlights of their exceptional mods. With Erebus Arms, choose from a variety of chrome, silver, and tactical black materials for your gorilla arms. Erebus also has custom textures for Mantis Blades and the Anti-Personnel Launcher, the sleek designs great for anyone playing Corpo.
They’re compatible with both male and female V, and can even be worn with nail polish. The mod is easy to download and install, and appears in-game with no glitches, which is a lot for a cosmetic mod of this caliber. It also ranks first for just how great it looks, no matter what style you decide to go with.
