Ichimaru Pharcos has launched Milltect (INCI: Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Codium Fragile Extract), intended to inhibit biofilm formation (dental plaque) that causes oral infections such as dental caries and periodontal diseases.

The ingredient prevents the occurrence of halitosis and pigmentation on the surface of the teeth by inhibiting the adhesion of bacteria. It is derived from marine algae, is halal certified, reduces cavity risk and prevents bad breath and tooth stains.
Millect also blocks oral pellicles before bacterial adhesion and can bind to some antibiotics like cetylpyridinium chloride. As a result, antibiotics are kept on the surface of the tooth and work more effectively, according to the company.
The ingredient was awarded the PCHi 2023 fountain award for best newcomers in February 2023.
